MT5 Error 4756 + Retcode 10014: Why 0.01 Lots Gets Rejected
If you see MT5 error 4756 together with retcode 10014, the problem is usually not MetaTrader itself. The broker is rejecting the order because the requested volume is invalid.
This often happens when traders assume that 0.01 lots is always allowed. In reality, every symbol has its own trading rules. A broker may require a higher minimum lot size, a different lot step, or different contract settings for that instrument.
That is why 4756 is only the outer error. The real cause is in the retcode. In this case, 10014 means the requested volume does not match the symbol requirements.
This matters even more in automated trading. If your system only shows “error 4756,” you are left guessing. If it shows the exact rejection reason, you can fix the issue much faster.
